With the current state of the world, couples are adjusting their weddings to fit state guidelines. Many weddings are decreasing their guest counts so that the wedding can still take place this year and is now considered a “micro wedding.” A micro wedding consists of fifty or less guests.
We want to remind you that just because there may have been changes to your wedding, doesn’t mean it can’t be the wedding of your dreams! We’re offering tips and advice for couples looking to have a micro wedding that exceeds their expectations.
Adjusting the Guestlist
If you already sent out your invitations and are now reducing the number of attendees, you’ll need to alert the guests who are no longer expected in person. It is best to let these guests know as soon as possible, and preferably over the phone. If you are looking for guidance with the wording, The Knot has a blog which guides you through the etiquette.
Share your Video
Now more than ever it's more important to have videography at your wedding. Videography has always been a way to preserve memories from your special day such as your first dance, your ceremony, and speeches. While photography is equally important, videography picks up on movement and captures words and emotions. Consider live streaming the event for guests who are no longer able to attend, or send out a video with all the highlights afterwards.

Embrace Important Traditions
You and your future spouse should continue to keep the traditions alive that you want for your wedding, no matter how many people are there! Remember what is important to you and include it. You’ll look back and be so glad you did.
Make your Decor Extra Special
A decrease in the guest list often frees up some money in the budget which allows couples to up their decor to truly make it impactful. We love seeing floral arches, colorful uplighting, sparklers during the first dance, or even “dancing on the clouds” effect.
Talk to your florist about additional floral decor, and talk to us about the rest!
Highlight the Food
Besides the entertainment, food is always a surefire way to “wow’ guests. With the increase in outdoor weddings, consider having a food truck at the end of the night for a late night snack. Yum!
